The Master’s Workshop (Kintsugi)
Peace

Jimmy provided a number of art works and tracks for this project giving @thisbrokenpastor the freedom to choose how they could fit. @thisbrokenpastor has chosen to put these two pieces, The Master’s Workshop (Kintsugi) and Peace together. The Master’s Workshop (Kintsugi) shows the world not being broken but rather the world being pieced back together, celebrating the scars and cracks, as is the custom with kintsugi1. Peace then poses the questions, “How will it look when the world is at peace? When conflict, wars, and violence cease.”

@thisbrokenpastor is moved by the idea when answering the question, “how will it look?”, the answer might be a world that carries the scars, that perhaps they won’t be hidden and lost forever, but as the fractured pieces are brought together they would become a crowding jewel. Do let us know what you think.

  1. Kintsugi (金継ぎ), meaning joining with gold, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks and breaks with urushi lacquer dusted or mised with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. Therefore, not trying to hide the cracks rather celebrating the journey and history of the piece of pottery and remembering all it has been through. ↩︎
