Hope Is Not…

Written by Paul Hicks.

Hope is not unfounded, not unjustified.
Rather, it is grounded in a far-more-glorious reality.
So drop your anchor down within the storm, and rest secure.

Hope is not about blind optimism.
It is the song of something not-yet-seen.
So listen. Don’t dismiss it. Take it seriously.

Hope is not misplaced: It will not snap or break.
It is the solid ground amidst the shifting sands.
So trust. Lean in. Stand firm.

Hope is not blind to your circumstances, deaf to your cries.
It sees. It hears. It knows. But knows as well, of what will surely come.
So listen to its call to look beyond them… catch it’s sweeter strain.

Hope is not impotent: is not fruitless.
No! It sows, it plants, it waters, and it yields a hefty harvest.
So look, in barren, dusty places; for the shoots, the flowers, the fruit it brings to life.

Hope is not pointless. No! Not ever.
Rather, it is vital. Ever needed, day by day.
So reach out for it as the dark surrounds.

Hope is not denied you.
Vital, it is offered to you, even now.
So grasp it, hold on tight and don’t let go.

Hope is not impossible to find.
It may be hidden, but is always close at hand.
So seek. And keep on seeking til you do.
